  • Rainbow Stromatolite (RS1)

    Notes specific to this specimen:  This is one of the original discovery pieces, collected by us in August 2025.  It is characteristic of all the variety of colors found in this site.  We’ve never seen such a variety of colors of stromatolite from a single site.  It reminded us of all the colors of Arizona petrified wood – known as “Rainbow Wood” –  and this became the source for our naming this new discovery “Rainbow Stromatolite”.

  • Cerdito Prospect Rift Crystals (CP2)

    Notes specific to this specimen:  Incredible combination of small clear quartz crystals with purple fluorite crystals over top of botryoidal green fluorite.  Nice standup piece has sawn-flat bottom and back showing the dynamic cracks and infilling produced by the North American Midcontinent Rift which happened about 1.1 billion years ago.   Because of the fluorite, it fluoresces very strong purple/blue.

  • St Clair Flora – rare preservation (F10)

    NAME: Alethopteris
    AGE: Carboniferous Period – 305 million years
    UNIT: Llewellyn Formation
    SITE: Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania

     

    Size: 11″ x 6″ x 1″

     

    Notes specific to this specimen: Two sided specimen. Front has equal amount of positive and negative fern fossils. Back side is colored yellow by iron intrusion making it a nice contrast to the classic white ferns on the front.

    Notes specific to this specimen: Two sided specimen – front and back are equally compelling with a dense accumulation of ferns. Back side is colored yellow by iron intrusion making it a nice contrast to the classic white ferns on the front. There are multiple layers showing around the edges.
